EdScope is a limited liability company providing educational websites and services to anyone interested in using them. Educators however, are the primary target audience for most of EdScope's sites. The company sees a need in developing resources for educators in order to make their jobs easier, facilitate communication in the educational community, and improve the educational system by allowing educators to share quality ideas.

In order to make these resources accessible to anyone, EdScope has made it a policy to keep all content free to the public. EdScope is able to do this by getting support from educational companies through advertising sponsorships. Why "EdScope?":

With the help of friends, the name EdScope was developed to reflect what the company is attempting to do: Expanding the Scope of Education! Think of our sites as a telescope to the field of education, with a field of view that is ever increasing. Each of our sites attempts to do this in some way. The Lesson Plans Page attempts to expand the scope of education by teaching teachers how to teach (by providing lesson plans for them to use). EduBanners hopes to do this by helping to spread the word to educators about great educational resources. By doing this, we help to expand each individual educator's scope of educational resources! By teaching about computer hardware and explaining how to accomplish certain tasks on BasicHardware.com, we hope to make computers easier and more fun to use for everyone. Then, teachers can use them more effectively and efficiently in the classroom or at home. FreeTeacherTools.com (currently in development) will expand the scope of education by expanding teachers' classrooms with free tools to enhance their students' education. We also went with the term "EdScope" to denote that we are scoping out the educational market for companies interested in reaching such an audience. By creating a strong presence in the educational market, educational institutions that work with us will be getting prime exposure. • History:

While EdScope wasn't founded as a company until February of 2000, it has existed as a collection of Internet sites since October of 1996. The first site developed was The Lesson Plans Page, which continues to provide free lesson plans for teachers to use in their classrooms. It was originally developed by Kyle Yamnitz exclusively to make teachers' jobs easier and facilitate the sharing of educational ideas on the Internet. Since then, The Lesson Plans Page has grown to be one of the more popular educational sites on the Internet. The company has grown as well, with several other sites fully developed, and many more planned for the future.

• Meet The Owner:

EdScope is owned by Kyle Yamnitz. Kyle lives in the Kansas City, Missouri area with his wife, Shelley. Kyle's credentials include a degree in Elementary Education and a degree in Computer Science; both from the University of Missouri - Columbia. The EdScope family of sites is meant to properly merge the two degrees to create technology-rich, educational resources.
